Cathy Runciman
What I’m Currently Doing - As co-founder of Atlas of the Future, a London- and Barcelona-based online resource of hope, I work to raise the profile of innovative, future-focused, socially impactful people and projects around the world. Every year we make deep explorations of particular topics, and are currently investigating the fashion system, climate breakdown impacts in the Mediterranean region and the future of education. I also curate Fixing the Future, our series of online and in-person events for future-curious citizens interested in co-creating better futures. I am a board advisor to Makerversity, a pioneering community of maker businesses in London’s Somerset House, and board member for Goldsmiths University’s publishing enterprise Goldsmiths Press.
Previously - Most of my career has been spent in the media, and has included working as acting CEO and head of partnerships at the non-profit global media organisation openDemocracy, and prior to that leading Time Out Group's international business, launching new media in over 30 cities worldwide. I’ve lived and worked in Argentina and in France, where I co-founded a Paris-based conference business for a North American business publisher.
