Joana Casaca Lemos
I am a hybrid design strategist. My practice sits at the intersection of communications design, co-creation methods and sustainability - which I define as, setting the conditions for flourishing.
Currently I am completing a PhD in design research at Central Saint Martins London (2017) and this explores how a collaborative approach to communication design can amplify the qualities of sustainability.
As outcome, I launched the ‘Communications Assembly’, a format developed to empower small-scale businesses to create their own communications strategy. Currently I am bringing these sessions to different cities around the world.
Alongside, I run a location independent design practice as consultant to various clients. I have worked on projects in most continents and diverse contexts, in the belief that designers are connectors of world-views. Some people I have collaborated with include Forum for the Future, Green School Indonesia, Doi Tung Thailand, IDEO U San Francisco, Hyper Island, Tate Modern London, and EDACY Africa.
