What I’m Currently Doing - I’m cofounder of Bread & Roses, a project director at FutureGov and a non-executive director of Year Here. Bread & Roses is a social enterprise florist supporting women from refugee backgrounds to rebuild their lives in the UK. We have seen the damaging impact of the UK asylum system. Our work seeks to raise awareness about and address the practical and emotional challenges that many women face as a result of this. As a project director at FutureGov I work with senior leaders within local authorities, supporting them to design, develop and deliver responses to address organisational and system wide challenges. As non-executive director of Year Here, I work with the organisation to maximise the experience of fellows and the impact of their work.
Previously - Having started my career in management consulting, I quickly moved away from the commercial world and into the social sector. I have spent the last five years working with local, central government and VCS organisations to develop and deliver responses to improve outcomes for residents and communities, working most recently in Social Finance’s Impact Incubator.
